Some highlights from the current events page

The 11th annual Broadkill River Canoe and Kayak Race

The 11th Annual Broadkill River Canoe and Kayak race was held Saturday August 28th.  Hosted as a fundraiser for the Milton Theatre with 104 boats in the water this is the largest canoe and kayak race on the Peninsula.

2010 RESULTS ARE HERE

We are updating as corrections are brought to our attention.

We are still missing the names of 3 paddlers and I have three paddlers that I don’t have times for, including Eric.

Mike and Alycia did a great job of helping out the Milton Theatre volunteers.  I loved the staggered start, but I suspect it may have lead to more work for the scorers at the end.  Our hats off to anyone that undertakes organizing a race.

So please send corrections to the results, including spelling and such to delmarvakayak@comcast.net

We do at least try to get it right.

I'll add this years race to the master composite when time permits.

Sept 11th

Introducing the 1st Annual Kayak Challenge

The Kayak Challenge is a mass start race for all Kayak entries.

They finally heard us so now it is up to us to support them!  No more boring timed runs, neatly run whatever the rowers call it we now have a mass start, KAYAK CHOAS

---------------------------------------------

The famous (infamous) Onancock Challenge

kayak/canoe race is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11, 9 a.m. There are two routes, a 5K and 10K.

The Deal Island Race was cancelled.  Bummer, but so few showed up it was inevitable.

10/10/10

3rd Annual Knot Race

what more do you need to know!

While maybe not the most famous Father and Son photography duo on Delmarva, their images are spectacular.   Arni Photography   Dad stays above water while Son goes under.  If you're lucky enough to get Ken as a guide on one of Coastal Kayak's nature tours, stay close to him, he's a wealth of knowledge.

The 2009 Retreat is over :-(  but here are some links to pictures.

The 22nd Delmarva Paddlers Retreat will be held Sept 30 - October 3rd

Junerose sent some beautiful images from the 2008 Retreat

See more of her images at  20th Annual Delmarva Paddlers Retreat

So, what's up with this Greenland stuff anyway?
