Well an intrepid seven braved the questionable forecasts April 1st and off we around the Eastern Neck Wildlife Area. The photographer was a little rusty with both his paddle and his new Pentax Optio WPi camera. And while I missed many shots I did get a few keepers. NOAA reported the water temps to be around 49°. The day was mostly sunny with an hour or two of showers. There had been a Small Craft warring issued for the day, but the winds, while stiff, never appeared to reach SCA status. We finished off with food at the Waterside Restaurant.

Led by Marshall, Eileen, Laura, Terry, Bob, Pete and Chris headed off from Bogles Warf under sunny skies. |

I finally remembered I had a camera when we stopped for lunch. Still sunny and breezy. |

Laura's scoping out the bald eagle, but over Baltimore the clouds become threatening looking. We saw eagles, perhaps a peregrine falcon, and osprey. We also saw these clouds forming quickly. |

After checking the NOAA radio, and determining that no warnings had been posted we prepared to set off. And most importantly no thunderstorms were reported. We all felt the best course of action would be to head out, stay close as a group and close to shore. |

Laura paddles as the clouds thicken. Later we would be in rain, but the bay calmed down and the wind slacken. It was actually refreshing. We were wet, but our spirits certainly were not dampened. |

Back on land firma we had to pose for the
obligatory group photos. Then some quick changes and loading and off
to eats.
